Godhand Teru drama

Finished the whole series of Godhand Teru!! Hmm...after the first episode, I was thinking that this has got to be adapted from the manga.

Synopsis:
The story revolves around a young man named Mahigashi Teru. When he was young, his father, a brilliant surgeon, died in an accident, but not before saving Teru's life. As a result, Teru also aims to become a great surgeon like his father, devoted to never letting a patient die. As a clumsy newcomer at his hospital, he seems to be an unlikely savior. But whenever a patient's life is in danger, his true powers emerge in the form of his "god hands," allowing him to successfully perform even the most difficult operations.

It was absolutely delightful! I have grown accustomed to the characters as well haha I think that the combination of cast members was brilliant and not just the usual famous actors/actresses reprising in similar roles. Seeing as I don't know most of the cast members in this drama, it was also a good change.

In the drama, most of the operations performed uses medical jargon but there are also a few diagrams to explain it. Though I am pretty sure that you will need to look up some of these terms if you are not a medical student.

The only downside to it is that there is not enough historic explanation of the development of the characters covered in the 6 episodes. But because this is a tremendous effort requiring a lot of money and time, they decided to focus on the fact that it is a medical/surgical drama.

Reveal under the cut only if you have watched the complete series. Appreciate your comments :D

haha Yasuda director is soooooo cool, calm and together!! His voice is definitely the one to play the part of a director of the hospital. Kitami-chan! He is also another cool one that looks really strict and stern at first but in a good manner. Both males are so fitting for the roles that are asked of them. So good!~

Shinomiya Kozue...I first saw her character in Nodame Cantabile. I can't really see the diversity of her acting skills in this medical role. She seems like the same person she played in Nodame Cantabile. Hmm....

Ahh the fact that Teru can sometimes call on the power of his dad in the beginning or the fact that he can become so skilled after a while....I am not sure if that was his father taking over his body or the fact that he had gotten the power from his father to look at the patient transparently like a God.

I HAVE no idea!! Relieve me of this confusion if anyone else knows!

Also on a last note, when the whole drama finished...the money-grabbing guy's story wasn't convincing enough. How come he became somebody that is so greedy for money and yet in the past, because the ambulance costed money, his mother couldn't get the help that she wanted. So why would he do the same thing to many other people??? It doesn't really make sense. Maybe I will have to read the manga after all!!

I would say that many people may find it a bit hard to enjoy the reality of this drama with the cheesy around-the-room shots and the cool music in the background to indicate that the surgery is performed miraculously. But it does hold some sentimental value and since I am a fan of medical drama such as House, I enjoyed it. But it may not be something I will introduce to a common friend unless he/she studies med.

Music - I have no problem with it. I liked the quiet theme of the drama. It is serene and touching. Plus the fast music theme used during surgery.....exhilirating! But only if it could be used less along with the whirly shots...that would have been better.

Head to the real website to check it out!!! There are extra goodies too :P
