Golden Sun DS

wow....I haven't been updating this blog for ages! Not to mention the fact that I haven't been keeping up to date with dramas or movies recently....sigh...I really need to get out and watch more but I don't seem to have any interest in doing it lately. Plus my only source of gaming at the moment is Team Fortress 2, and I haven't gotten round to writing it.

Unless I do have something worth talking about and worth writing about, I don't feel the need to put so much effort into this blog now. I will probably show up some video links and keep that going a little. My games and dramas have been put on hold for now.

In any case! There is some exciting news for the much awaited and anticipated Golden Sun DS game!! I is the 3rd title of the Golden Sun series and its my favourite game of all time. I really want to get my hands on it but unfortunately I do not have DS. My previous entry (http://jiggleyourthumbs.blogspot.com/2009/08/golden-sun-2-lost-age-game-review.html) on Golden Sun 2 will sum things up. Great story writing, fantastic gameplay and puzzles, awesome turn of events and I like how its a continuation from the previous game and not just another random or separate story. I can't wait!!

Here is the trailer:

introduction to team fortress 2

HEY!!! I am back!! Everything is finished and I am now on break! Yes I love this freedom! Although having nothing to do has been a little strange. What filled up my time was games...hehe totally lagged but what the heck, just played for the fun of it.

I have totally been avoiding my blog. I can't believe how engrossed I am in Team Fortress 2!! Hopefully I will have time to bring up an overview of what TF2 is all about. Its an awesome multiplayer online shooter game where there are 9 classes to play. Its by the same creators of Left 4 Dead and Counter Strike. Awesome ideas coming out from none other than the best.

Good fun and a way to connect with game mates online~

Have a look (Click to enlarge):

This is the original concept. From L-R: Pyro, Engineer, Spy, Heavy, Scout, Sniper (back), Soldier (back), Demoman and Medic.

And the rest of the pictures are a parody of it :P

Golden Sun 2: The Lost Age - game review

LONG overdue!~ I can't believe I have not been updating this blog for a while enjoy!

Game play
Role playing game
Action/Adventure, Fantasy with puzzles
Sequel to Golden Sun 1
Maximum level reached: 40-45
Duration: Approx. 40 hours

The game is rather easy to follow and it is not difficult, though if you are a serious gamer, you may like backtracking. Personally, if you don't spend consecutive days playing, you may forget the map or your challenges quite easily. Its a long-winded story that requires the obtaining of certain powers to get you through different puzzle courses; not to mention upgrading of equipment and collecting monsters etc. This is one of the best role-playing series that I have played with a good story plot divided into 2 sections. SO you will need to play Golden Sun 1 before 2 and not the other way around. Click to reveal more!

Tales of Destiny finished!

Tales of Destiny (played on PS1) follows Tales of Phantasia and the story revolves around the main character's son from the previous game. Despite not playing the first but knowing that it involves an RPG role but an action type battle against monsters....it really did not appeal to me as the controls can produce lots of frustration (ie. jumping up and attacking flight enemies is merely possible and it gets on your nerves). Though I decided to give it a shot.

L-R: You, Farah, Keele, Meredy.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance

Here it is! The awaited Marvel Ultimate Alliance game review (though it really is my personal opinion). Marvel is going strong!! With its combined universe and many of your favourite super heroes and ones that my generation has never really come across yet heard before are here!!! My favourite part of the game is that you are in a team of 4 and it is a brawl! I love brawls...hey don't ask me why I am so violent for a girl but I just am! You can rotate and play whichever character you want to even though you are in a team of 4!

During a scene to the next team mission

You can unlock suits, unlock special characters, collect armour and improve your characters, enhance special moves and enhance special qualities of your characters.

There are 4 suits to unlock for each character:
the last suit being the one that you can only lock from a comic mission (only one character instead of a team) but you need to be able to access the comic mission by collecting it in the team missions themselves.

The characters that I spent the most time on and saw to the end are Captain America, Thor (Beta Bill Ray), Ghost Rider and Human Torch.

Jump under the cut to read more about character profiles, good + bad points of the game and more pictures!

Lunar 2 - Eternal Blue completed

Finally!! I have finished Lunar 2!! This RPG (role playing game much like final fantasy for example) game honestly took a long time.

46 hours of hard training and reaching level 76 is how I had finish this game! hahaha I was a little bit reluctant to finish this game because the training went on for probably half of the time. I started training very hard from Level 41...you can imagine how many hours put into that to reach up to 76! Obviously, this is a much longer game compared to the prequel Silver Star Story where I managed to finish the first one in 27 hours.

SO anyway, even for a playstation which was the beginning of 3D games you could say, Lunar 2 adopted a modest graphical design whereby also keeping it original to the first game on Gameboy Advance yet develops anime scenes to better off enhance the atmosphere in the game. Therefore, you better watch the scenes and it won't repeat for you again!! The only downfall to this game might I have to say is that the whole thing is in English. The battle voices, the scenes were painfully heard haha sad...I know. My Japanese is not good to read or listen to this story so I had to play this game in English. It really is a pity! I wished that it wasn't dubbed but subtitles are placed instead.

L: Solving puzzles
R: Scene about the corrupted Goddess

The graphics are cartoon-like and the characters can travel diagonal, yet the camera angle is only directed above them. So again, it is not 3D, but I have enjoyed it at this level because I can't really appreciate stiff 3D characters in most playstation games haha or blurred visions for that matter of a fact.

L: Fighting the White dragon
R: All dragons join forces to defeat the stirring evil

If a character dies during a battle against monsters, once you have defeated them, they will still be alive but with only 1 health. Just heal them fully. The downside to it is that they do not gain experience from fighting those monsters or even bosses so make sure that in order to gain a lot of experience, quickly revive them during battle and keep healing. I think that this concept is quite fair in the game as some other games need you to travel back to cities or towns just to revive them. Also, to clear things up, Luna is an extra character in the game and proves to be useful at times.

L: Towards the ending, getting ready to face Zophar; the ultimate boss. Don't know why he is like a cross-dresser. Made me squirm haha.
R: Zophar had 4 different forms! Was difficult to beat him at level 53! Should've aimed for 55 lol.

From here on out under the cut, these are ending spoilers!! Do not reveal if you are still playing this or wanting to play it (actually, people would have already played it since playstation is really old)! Unless you have played it or don't care, view it fully at your leisure.

Enjoy!

Sweet! Lunar 2 Eternal blue!

WHOA! Playing Lunar 2! Sorta....had to stop because of all the uni work that is flowing in! Up to my head....

Role playing game that was adapted from Sega and remade for playstation. WHOO!!! GO 2D! I am not satisfied with the use of 3D-effect game unless there is absolute smoothness and you really can't see any glitches.

I wouldn't say too much about Lunar 2 mainly because it is an action-packed game and the story keeps moving from one place to another! The big picture is that you are playing decades after Alex and Nall and having to battle the bad crooks. It revolves around the 4 dragons again and some evil doer is trying to take over the world and uses the dragon power to suppress all the good out there.

Also, there are animation scenes (again not very clear) but it goes to show that it is a remake from the Sega version. I miss Sega!!

Hello? This is me!

Jean, awesome fighter

Lemina, powerful magic wielder

Luna who is trying to find a Goddess named Althena. I forgot to get the other pictures.

Bad guy? Who knows?

Although in the flashback, he was. How did he live for so long? Play the game and you will find out.

Lucia, Me, Ronfar (money stealer! Lemina is a money-grubber!).

Rooms

Rooms is a puzzle game designed and handmade by a few korean students. It became a big hit with really good reviews and it always stimulates the brain ahahaha I think so!!!

I had just finished it! I love puzzles!!! Though it can be a bit frustrating for some people that they cannot get the pattern or they cannot overcome the puzzele but I do like taking time from other things to just solve puzzles...others do crosswords and sudoku...I enjoy puzzles haahaha. It is a simple concept yet the puzzles can be really tricky!

Description: Basically it is like the sliding tiles puzzle with only one space for you to move the tiles. In this case, Rooms has many other things that you must collect (you are a korean dude walking between each room) in order to step into another "room"/tile in order to complete the level. Also, you can move tiles, (but you must be in it) just like the regular tiled puzzle with the exception of of your tile being blocked.

The audio sounds like harry potter....at times I get really scared if I play it at midnight but nah...all good. The colour is very vivid and bright!! Although for example, items are not shown very clearly and at first, I had no idea that I had to pick up the newspaper to read about every level. I thought it was for show. They should have instructions for beginners hehe.

Breath of Fire 2 done

Finished Breath of Fire 2 & I think there is number 3 on Playstation 1? Not sure...I will check. This game is far more tedious than number 1 & not to mention very very hard! The GBA version is apparently easier than the old Super Nintendo...ok? Nevertheless it took me a while to finish because you cannot miss anything or you are dead...

Overall, the story is good & it unfolds but I am sorry...the Americans did not do a good job of translating it. The fighting is fair...but you need to train up a lot. Plus, each character have unique uses for obstacles in the game so its quite annoying to supervise them if you did not train them. After all, you can only take 4 characters including yourself out of 8.

Demon shown at the beginning of the game. Even though this character looks the same compared to the 1st game, this is actually around 4-5 generations after the 1st game.

You can even fish & catch animals for ingredients to make better items! But you have to do catch it with skill haha You can transport by whale, bird & town-ship! That happens in order as you advance in the game...

There is actually a Church city! Every house has a statue of God (or so it seems...) whereas that is not the God I am talking about haha & the chapel is guarded by a robot!

B=my older brother...I couldn't change the name so I am stuck with B! That is my statistics.

I think they are the creators of the game because there are no characters like them in the game

THE END! Though I am not so sure....need to find out!!! Time for my next game.....haha

Breath of Fire done!

I have completed yet another game that took quite a bit of my time!!! Not to mention tedious!! You need to have a good memory of this game or play it continuously or else you cannot finish it on your own & depend on the "help file" for it. OH I had to refer to it multiple times!!! Unlike Lunar Legend haha enough chit chat....photos out!

Rudra, the dragon transformation of the main character, Agni, the most powerful dragon transformation of the main character aka ME!!

Ya ya....2nd to last boss!! Wasn't that hard to defeat it! You needed a dragon song to reduce its life greatly! Again....needed the help files for it! From the bottom left....Rudra transformation, Nina a bird woman, Bleu a sleeping sorceress you get to awake, & that is Karn but is in an odd shape. He fused with an ox, a fish & a wolf! How odd!!

Nina can transform into a bird for transportation purpose, with other birds

Ending of the game!! Walking into the sunset with a memory of my sister whom you don't know not until towards the end of the game but you started off the game wondering who she is!

yes going on to number 2!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!! All the best for this year! May God bless you & may you walk in His path to righteousness whether you have to go through tough decisions or enjoying the simple things in life. Always remember the Father THROUGH THICK & THIN BECAUSE HE STICKS BY EVERYTHING.

& Thank you Daddy for helping me to clean my room!!! It was funny!!!
Are you sure mum bought the right one? This is not the right "solution"!

Lunar Legend!

Just finished the lunar legend game in which I had started a week ago! Played in total of 27 hours before finishing the game. & I do say it was quite exhilarating! I only had to use the help file once to solve the puzzles. Am I good or what?! haha but I had to save quite a number of times during battle, especially the last boss! HE IS SO DIFFICULT!! Should've trained harder but I wanted to finish this game off & play another ahaha.

Just to note, I am showing what the game is like. In no way will I reveal the story haha well maybe by a bit. It is very cartoon-like but have great images throughout the game. If I must say, the graphics are very innocent & the dialog was alright with many twists & quests. But my favourite part of the game as always, is the leveling up and the scaling up of armor & weapons to defeat monsters!!! Magic is such a delight to use ahaha.

Great game & worth playing for especially during battling. They are the same creators of Grandia so no surprise about the battling tactics structure. If you like Grandia you will like this. However, I haven't played Grandia! Must get around to it!

HAVE A MERRY XMAS EVE EVERYBODY!!!!!!!
